Job summary

The Brazilian Court Hotel in West Palm Beach, FL is seeking a Shift Engineer with maintenance experience to support the Director of Engineering in performing general maintenance and repairs on on‑property equipment, guestrooms, and grounds.

This role requires 2 years of building maintenance experience, ability to work mornings and evenings, fluent English, and the use of HVAC, electrical, and plumbing tools. Candidates must be able to stand, lift up to 30 pounds and work outdoors.

Qualifications

• 2 years’ experience in building maintenance in hotel or residential environments.
• Fluent in English; able to speak, read and write English.

Responsibilities

• Complete room calls, day to day projects & emergencies such as Preventative Maintenance of rooms, AC coil cleaning & AC maintenance, electrical & plumbing projects, roof repairs, Pool & Spa maintenance & repairs, Chiller maintenance, etc.
• Respond to all guest requests in a courteous, efficient and safe manner.
• Follow preventive maintenance programs in compliance with hotel standards and local, state and national codes and regulations.
• Respond to all emergency situations including fire alarms, bomb threats, disasters and power failures; notify the appropriate authorities.
• Make rounds of the hotel property to ensure everything is in working order.
• Clean and maintain all equipment and work areas.
• Handle elevator malfunctions.
• Report any unsafe conditions to the Director of Engineering.
• Act as Security during your shift.
• Complete other tasks as assigned.

Responsibilities:

The Brazilian Court Hotel is seeking a Shift Engineer with maintenance experience. Under the supervision of the Director of Engineering, the Shift Engineer will be responsible for performing general maintenance and repairs on the on-facility equipment and property structures, guestrooms and grounds maintenance.

Physical Requirements:

• Must be able to stand, bend and walk for hours at a time.
• Must be able to lift and carry 30 pounds.

• Ability to maintain and repair HVAC, electrical, plumbing equipment and perform carpentry and repair work.
• Knowledge of power tools and how to use.
• Excellent communication skills required to respond on portable radio to fellow staff members and guests.
• Fluent in English; able to speak, read and write English.
