Job summary

RRD Company in St. Charles, IL is seeking a 2nd shift production coordinator to lead manufacturing operations from 2pm to 10pm.

The role involves instructing and auditing processes to ensure production specifications are met and maintaining strong relationships with staff and management. You will ensure safety and quality compliance, supervise machine setups, train new employees, and pursue continuous improvement across departments.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED preferred.
  • 2+ years experience in a manufacturing/operations environment.
  • Proficient with MS Office and related software.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds occasionally.

Responsibilities

  • Provide instruction and guidance to employees and audit work processes and products to confirm production specifications are met.
  • Maintain positive and effective relationships with employees; direct employees to the appropriate manager regarding policy questions.
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations, quality standards, policies and procedures; report problems to management.
  • Inspect products and/or shipments to verify conformance to specifications.
  • Review and approve machine setups, production samples, and/or shipments as necessary.
  • Identify and report opportunities for continual improvement.
  • Attend production meetings and coordinate with other departments to organize production activities.
  • Coordinate or perform training for new employees and guests to ensure safety, quality, and production requirements are understood.
  • Ensure the Quality Policy and Objectives are understood and achieved.
  • May supervise junior staff and review/audit work for accuracy.
  • May update shift schedules in the time and attendance system and enter attendance transactions.
  • Share expertise and help train other employees as assigned.
  • Carry out other responsibilities as delegated by management.

Job Description

2nd Shift: 2pm - 10pm

  • Provide instruction and guidance to employees and audit work processes and products to confirm production specifications are met.
  • Maintain positive and effective relationships with employees. Direct employees to the appropriate manager regarding policy questions.
  • Ensure compliance with all safety regulations, quality standard, policies and procedures. Report any problems, potential problems, hazardous situations to management
  • Inspect products and/or shipments to verify conformance to specifications
  • Review and approve machine set ups, production samples, and/or shipments as necessary
  • Identify and report opportunities for continual improvement
  • When necessary, attend production meetings and/or confer with other departments to coordinate production activities
  • Coordinate or perform training for new employees, contract workers, and/or guests to ensure safety, quality, and production requirements are understood.
  • Ensure the “Quality Policy and Objectives” are understood and achieved
  • May provide oversight of work conducted by junior-level staff and/or review/audit work for accuracy
  • May update and maintain shift schedules in the time and attendance system, as well as enter attendance transactions
  • Share your expertise and help train other employees as assigned
  • Carrieout other responsibilitiesas delegated by management in alignment with evolving business needs
Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or GED preferred
  • 2 or more years of experience in a manufacturing/operations environment
  • Able to consistently apply applicable policies, procedures, regulations, and program objectives when carrying out the duties of the job
  • Must have proficient knowledge of technology including computers and software programs such as MS Office, MAC word processing, spreadsheets, or other programs specific to the job in order to complete job duties successfully
  • Must have excellent oral and written communication skills to communicate effectively across departments when completing assignments
  • Must have strong organizational skills with the ability to manage deadlines and prioritize workload and make adjustments to meet business needs
  • Regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds, and rarely lift in excess of 50 pounds
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percentages
  • Must be able to communicate and interact with a variety of internal/external customers and/or co-workers at level of detail required to resolve issues

Thepay range for this role at the noted location is $26.26 to $35.05 per hour. The actual rate of pay offered may vary based upon, but not limited to: education, skills, experience, proficiency, performance, shift, and location. In addition to base salary, depending on the role, the total compensation package may also include overtime, shift differential, call-in, and stand-by pay.
