Job summary

RR Donnelley & Sons is seeking a Production Supervisor to oversee manufacturing operations, ensure production specifications are met, and maintain strong relationships across teams. You will guide employees, enforce safety and quality standards, and coordinate with other departments to drive efficiency and continuous improvement.

The role requires solid experience in manufacturing environments, ability to read specifications, and proficiency with MS Office.

Responsibilities

• Provide instruction and guidance to employees and audit work processes and products to confirm production specifications are met.
• Maintain positive and effective relationships with employees and direct them to the appropriate manager regarding policy questions.
• Ensure compliance with safety regulations, quality standards, policies and procedures. Report problems, hazards, or potential issues to management.
• Inspect products and/or shipments to verify conformance to specifications.
• Review and approve machine setups, production samples, and shipments as necessary.
• Identify and report opportunities for continual improvement.
• Attend production meetings and coordinate with other departments to coordinate production activities.
• Coordinate or perform training for new employees, contract workers, and guests to ensure safety, quality, and production requirements are understood.
• Ensure the Quality Policy and Objectives are understood and achieved.
• May provide oversight of junior staff and review/audit work for accuracy.
• May update and maintain shift schedules in the time and attendance system, and enter attendance transactions.

• When necessary, attend production meetings and/or confer with other departments to coordinate production activities
• Coordinate or perform training for new employees, contract workers, and/or guests to ensure safety, quality, and production requirements are understood.
• Ensure the "Quality Policy and Objectives" are understood and achieved
• May provide oversight of work conducted by junior-level staff and/or review/audit work for accuracy
• May update and maintain shift schedules in the time and attendance system, as well as enter attendance transactions

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED preferred
• 2 or more years of experience in a manufacturing/operations environment
• Able to consistently apply applicable policies, procedures, regulations, and program objectives when carrying out the duties of the job
• Must have proficient knowledge of technology including computers and software programs such as MS Office, MAC word processing, spreadsheets, or other programs specific to the job in order to complete job duties successfully
• Must have excellent oral and written communication skills to communicate effectively across departments when completing assignments
• Must have strong organizational skills with the ability to manage deadlines and prioritize workload and make adjustments to meet business needs
• Regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds, and rarely lift in excess of 50 pounds
• Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percentages
• Must be able to communicate and interact with a variety of internal/external customers and/or co-workers at level of detail required to resolve issues
