Alcon seeks a Shift Controls Engineer (Night Shift) to design, develop, implement, and maintain automation and control systems with emphasis on modeling and control theory. You will lead complex tasks across instrumentation, electrical and automation, ensuring reliability and performance on manufacturing lines.

Requires a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent, strong English communication, and willingness to work a 12-hour night shift onsite in Johns Creek, GA.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent years of related experience.
  • Fluent English communication (read/write/speak).
  • Onsite location in Johns Creek, GA (and Duluth, GA as indicated).
  • Willingness to work 6:00 PM–6:00 AM shift (12-hour nights).
  • Travel 0–5% for occasional site support.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and execute design, development, and maintenance of instrumentation, electrical, and automation control systems.
  • Support manufacturing operations through automation design, system configuration, and troubleshooting.
  • Apply mathematical modeling and control theory to optimize system performance.
  • Ensure compliance with SOPs and quality standards (GxP where applicable).
  • Collaborate with engineering teams to drive continuous improvement and implement advanced control strategies.
