Carris Reels in Rutland, VT is seeking a Band III Machine Operator for Mill and Bolt Divisions, Shift 2. The role involves operating CNC machines or bolt-making equipment, performing limited setups, and ensuring quality and productivity on a fast-paced line.

Qualifications

  • Prior machine operation or manufacturing experience preferred based on demonstrated ability.
  • General knowledge of small hand tools.
  • Forklift experience or license preferred; must be willing to obtain a forklift license.
  • High school diploma or educational equivalent preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Safely and efficiently operate multiple CNC machines or bolt-making equipment.
  • Perform limited machine setups and reset equipment for new production cycles.
  • Load and unload materials using vacuum lift equipment and/or manual handling as required.
  • Monitor machine cycles and production, unload and stack finished material, and maintain an organized work area.
  • Troubleshoot machine and equipment issues and perform basic repairs and preventative maintenance once trained.
  • Read and use measuring tools, which may include micrometers, scales, and tape measures.
  • Read and follow customer specifications and production requirements.
  • Coordinate materials and production needs with the Shift Supervisor.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area.
  • Follow all OSHA requirements, company safety rules, procedures, and training.
  • Recognize and report hazards and actively participate in the company safety program.
  • Maintain excellent attendance and work overtime when business needs require.
  • Demonstrate flexibility by assisting in other areas or buildings as needed.
  • Continue learning and developing new manufacturing skills.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
