Job summary

Dallas Animal Services seeks a Veterinary Services Supervisor to lead daily intake and care of animals. You’ll support veterinarians, supervise staff, and ensure efficient operations in a fast-paced shelter environment.

Responsibilities include scheduling, training, records management, and ensuring compliance with medical protocols. Previous shelter medicine experience and leadership are essential for success in this role based at Dallas City’s animal services facility.

Qualifications

• Four (4) years of experience in Animal Services or related field with supervisory duties.
• Two (2) years of lead work/supervisory responsibilities.
• Valid driver’s license with a good driving record.
• Must obtain Texas euthanasia certification within probationary period.
• Availability to work varying shifts, including nights, weekends, and on-call.

Responsibilities

• Supervises animal intake, staff, and adherence to policies and standards.
• Creates schedules and workflows; ensures timely and efficient work.
• Inspects work quality and proposes procedures to improve efficiency.
• Manages medical evaluations, treatments, and records for animals.
• Trains technicians and vet assistants; coordinates with the veterinarian.
