Job summary

Atlanta Humane Society is seeking a Shelter Medicine Assistant Level One to support veterinary staff with medical exams, vaccinations, and behavior assessments at the West Midtown campus in Atlanta. You will help manage intake, maintain PetPoint records, and provide humane care and customer service to animals and visitors.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED and at least six months of customer service experience, with preference for shelter or veterinary setting experience.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Six months of customer service experience preferred.
• Experience in animal shelter or veterinary settings preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide humane care and handling of shelter animals.
• Assist veterinarian with exams and vaccinations.
• Perform intake counseling and data entry in PetPoint.
• Record tests and maintain accurate animal records.
• Administer medications and monitor health.
• Ensure clean, safe housing and sanitation.
• Support staff and volunteers to achieve goals.
• Assist with euthanasia procedures as needed.
• Maintain drug logs and follow safety rules.
• Provide quality customer service to visitors.
