Job summary

Goodwill Northern Michigan seeks a Team Lead to guide the Human Service Worker (HSW) team in delivering housing-focused, low-barrier shelter services while maintaining a safe, dignified environment. You will oversee shift coverage, mentor HSWs, and ensure adherence to Housing First policies.

Responsibilities include training, coordinating daily shelter operations, and providing after-hours on-call support, with a 70/30 guest-service to operations balance and rotating overnight/weekend schedules.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 1–3 years’ experience in shelter or homeless services preferred.
• Strong leadership and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead and model best practices for HSWs to maintain a safe, respectful environment.
• Assist with training Inn Staff and ensure policy adherence.
• Coordinate day-to-day shelter operations and housing-focused processes.
• Provide after-hours on-call support for shelter staff.
• Balance guest support with operational coordination during shifts.
