Job summary

HELP USA in New York, NY, is seeking a Safety Monitor to ensure a safe, welcoming environment for residents at our facilities. You will be the first contact for residents and guests, patrol grounds, and document incidents.

The role requires NYS security guard license, FDNY F-02 (with up to 30 days to obtain), a high school diploma or equivalent, and the ability to work nights and weekends, with a compassion for homeless families and disadvantaged populations.

Qualifications

• New York State security guard license is required.
• FDNY F-02 required (for most locations, 30 days after start to obtain).
• High School Diploma or equivalent OR equivalent experience and skills.
• Demonstrated knowledge, experience, or capacity to work with homeless families/individuals and/or disadvantaged populations.
• Strong interpersonal skills.
• Ability to provide night and weekend coverage as needed.

Responsibilities

• Patrol facility grounds to maintain safety and security.
• Sign in residents and guests to control access.
• Escort visitors to proper destinations within the facility.
• Conduct unit inspections to identify hazards and ensure compliance.
• Maintain accurate documentation of incidents and actions taken.
• Prepare incident reports when necessary.
