Job summary

The ASPCA’s Cruelty Recovery Center in Columbus, OH, seeks a Registered Veterinary Technician to partner with veterinarians in delivering high‑quality care for rescued animals. The RVT will handle nursing tasks, assist with diagnostics, and support field operations and foster care as needed.

Responsibilities emphasize low‑stress handling, documentation, and collaboration with the Veterinary Care team. On‑site role with flexible scheduling and travel up to 25%.

Qualifications

• OH RVT license or eligible to obtain within 90 days.
• Graduation from AVMA CVTEA or CVMA-accredited program; VTNE passed.
• Minimum 1 year clinical experience with dogs and cats is preferred.
• Fear Free and Fear Free Shelters certification or plan to complete within 60 days.

Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate patient care using low‑stress handling techniques.
• Proficient nursing skills including venipuncture, catheter placement, radiographs.
• Assist with examinations, treatments, and diagnostic testing.
• Support for forensic examinations and evidence collection in cruelty cases.
• Maintain medical records with accurate data entry and documentation.
