Job summary

Animal and Avian Medical Center in Brunswick, OH is seeking a Registered Veterinary Technician to join our small animal and exotic care team. RVTs provide anesthesia, surgery, dentistry, lab work and client education to ensure safe, compassionate patient care.

We value collaboration with veterinarians and support staff to deliver consistent, high‑quality service. The role requires compassion, reliability, and strong communication with clients and teammates.

Qualifications

• State license to work as a certified/licensed/registered veterinary technician in state of desired employment.
• Ability to lift patients and equipment up to 25 pounds; with assistance can lift over 25 pounds.
• Familiarity with OSHA safety techniques and PPE.
• Basic computer skills (MS Office).
• Strong math for calculating medication dosages.

Responsibilities

• Assist veterinarians in veterinary medicine and surgery.
• Take histories, vital signs and weights during outpatient exams and educate clients.
• Prepare patients for surgery and monitor vital signs during procedures.
• Collect samples and perform in-hospital lab testing; prepare specimens for outside labs.
• Take and maintain radiographs following safety procedures.
• Handle and restrain animals during exams.
• Administer medications, anesthesia, vaccines and treatments as directed.
• Maintain exam rooms, labs and equipment; restock supplies.
