Job summary

Friends of Switchpoint is seeking a Shelter Resident Support Specialist for the Tooele, UT location. This part-time role runs a graveyard shift from 11:00 pm to 7:00 am, focusing on compassionate resident support and safe shelter operations.

You will document daily occurrences, coordinate with staff on residents’ needs, and assist with basic shelter tasks and transportation. Prior experience in a shelter or service setting is valued.

Responsibilities

• Assist with simple shelter operations and transactions at the store.
• Address security concerns by contacting non-emergency or emergency services when needed.

PURPOSE:

As a Shelter Resident Support Specialist, you'll provide compassionate support to individuals, families, and veterans experiencing homelessness while helping create a safe, welcoming, and respectful community. Guided by Friends of Switchpoint's values of kindness, connection, and self-reliance, you'll empower residents on their path to stability and success while helping daily shelter operations run smoothly.

Requirements

Responsibilities:

• Understand and implement switchpoint’s mission and values and adhere to all policies and procedures
• Provide exceptional customer service to all guests of the facility
• Keep a daily log of all occurrences within the facility for each shift
• Make notes of any special requirements and needs that residents may have (special diets, ADA accommodations, etc.) And coordinate with management to facilitate those needs.
• Update maintenance log with maintenance requests
• Arrange transportation for residents in shuttle vans
• Actively listen to the needs of the residents and act to meet those needs appropriately.
• Report any resident concerns to case management and management.
• Simple cleaning (public bathrooms, sweeping, mopping, etc.)
• Assist with convenience store transactions
• Monitor cameras and log activity
• Complete perimeter checks around the building and walk-throughs in the building to ensure the safety and security of residents. Log and document any concerns.
• Handle security issues/complaints by involving either non-emergency dispatch or 911 for emergency services
• Other duties as assigned.

Compensation:
