Job summary

CAMBA’s Kings Inn Family Shelter in Elmhurst, NY, seeks a Recreation Coordinator to organize and lead recreational and ADL activities, support social development, and coordinate program calendars. You will work with families in a structured, therapeutic setting.

Requirements include a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience; pre-employment clearances; TB test; First Aid/CPR and overdose prevention certifications. Bi-lingual preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience required.
• Pre-employment SCR clearance and background checks required.
• TB test required; background clearances must remain current.
• First Aid/CPR certification required; overdose prevention certification recommended.
• Bi-lingual preferred.

Responsibilities

• Organize and lead recreational/ADL activities to enhance social development.
• Facilitate and/or teach physical education, arts, music, or drama.
• Plan and coordinate activities to meet program goals and targets.
• Maintain a weekly/monthly activity calendar for internal and external events.
• Communicate effectively with clients, staff, and funders; supervise staff as needed.
