Job summary

The Salvation Army Social Services is seeking a part-time Program Assistant for the Crossroads Men’s Emergency Shelter. The role focuses on safety and security of residents, staff, and volunteers, and on delivering respectful, dignified service.

Shifts vary, including day, swing, overnight, weekends and holidays. Responsibilities include guest services, front desk operations, documentation, and adherence to program policies.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or G.E.D. is required.
• Experience with homeless populations is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide strong customer service to guests and support communication.
• Maintain safe environment and assist with check-in procedures.
• Perform front desk duties, answer phones, and greet guests.
• Conduct routine safety checks and respond to emergencies.
• Document shift notes and maintain client files.
