Job summary

Humane Colorado is seeking a dependable Operations Support Specialist to assist daily shelter operations and ensure high-quality care for animals and patrons. You will work across departments, performing cleaning, stocking, events, transport and animal handling with safety in mind.

This role requires lifting up to 50 pounds, weekend/holiday availability, and a drive to obtain euthanasia-related certification. Prior shelter or animal care experience is a plus and a driver’s license is required.

Qualifications

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs (Word, Excel, Outlook).
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong interpersonal communication and collaboration abilities.
• Ability to manage timelines and multiple tasks in a dynamic setting.

Responsibilities

• Float to various departments to support sheltering teams as assigned.
• Coordinate daily shelter operations and improve animal flow between spaces.
• Assist with donations and keep storage organized.
• Maintain clean, stocked hallway stations and facilities to standard.
• Cover tasks, staff shortages, or scheduling challenges as needed.
• Lead and plan offsite adoption events and related activities.
• Help with investigations and large animal impounds as required.
• Obtain and maintain euthanasia-related certification as needed.
• Provide project oversight for small, ongoing initiatives.
• Support staff and volunteers with training and onboarding.
• Run driving errands and support department needs.
