Michigan Humane in Westland seeks a Shelter Medicine Licensed Veterinary Technician (LVT) to join the Shelter Medicine team. You will provide clinical nursing care, perform diagnostic tasks, and assist veterinarians during procedures to support animal welfare.

Qualifications

• Licensed veterinary technician (LVT) in Michigan.
• 1–3 years of relevant experience.
• Ability to lift 50 lbs and perform physical tasks as needed.
• Calm under pressure and able to handle emergencies.

Responsibilities

• Humane care for all animals entrusted to Michigan Humane.
• Perform physical exams, nail trims, parasite screening, and ear cleaning.
• Assist veterinarian during surgery and monitor anesthesia.
• Place IV catheters, collect samples, and process lab tests.
• Prepare radiographs and assist with euthanasia procedures.
