Siena Francis House is seeking a Second Shift Shelter Supervisor to oversee the Emergency Shelter operations and staff development. The role ensures service continuity, safety, and housing-focused crisis response, with on-site management during the second shift.
The position requires strong communication, crisis-management, and data-entry skills, plus experience supervising shelter staff and coordinating with case management to support housing plans.
Position Title: Second Shift Shelter Supervisor Date: May 5, 2026
This position will be responsible for the day-to-day oversight of the Emergency Shelter, which will include being onsite to manage operations and supervision and development of staff. The Siena Francis House operates a low-barrier shelter to serve the community’s adult homeless population, the individuals served in shelter have various presenting problems including mental illness, substance abuse disorders, are unemployed and/or disabled, and may have chronic medical conditions. The Second Shift Shelter Supervisor will promote a “housing focused” philosophy to help individuals served in shelter achieve appropriate housing as part of the crisis response system.
The regular schedule for this position is Monday-Friday 2:30pm-10:30pm.This position participates in a rotating weekend and on-call schedule with other Shelter Supervisors, the Medical Respite Coordinator, and the Miracles Residential Supervisor. During assigned on-call rotations, which occur approximately every 4-6 weeks, the employee serves as the primary management contact for shelter operations and Miracles from Friday at 5:00pm through Monday at 8:00am.
Responsibilities include responding to program-related calls, providing guidance and support to staff, addressing operational and emergency situations, and ensuring continuity of services. This position may occasionally work outside of regularly scheduled hours to support shelter operations, provide coverage across shifts, respond to urgent needs, and ensure appropriate supervision and continuity of services.
