Catholic Charities of Los Angeles, Inc. is seeking a Kitchen Supervisor for Good Shepherd Centers’ Interim Housing sites in Los Angeles.

You will plan, prepare, and serve nutritious meals for shelter residents, ensure food safety and accommodate dietary needs, and work closely with case managers to support residents’ well-being. You will train and supervise volunteers, manage inventory, and coordinate donation pickups while maintaining trauma-informed and culturally sensitive practices.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Formal culinary training or food service certification is preferred.
• Minimum 1–3 years of experience in food preparation.
• Must pass a background check and health requirements.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and serve daily meals for shelter residents.
• Develop weekly menus that are nutritious and culturally sensitive.
• Order, receive, and store food and supplies with inventory control.
• Maintain a clean, safe kitchen in compliance with health regulations.
• Supervise and train kitchen volunteers and interns.
• Assist with donation intake and food-related item inventory.
