Job summary

Odyssey House Louisiana, Inc. is seeking a full-time Kitchen Assistant to support culinary operations at our Louisiana facility. You will assist in daily kitchen tasks, food preparation, purchasing, storage, and delivery of supplies, while helping maintain cleanliness and safety.

You will coordinate with the Program Manager and kitchen staff, oversee client workers, manage inventories, and assist with invoices and ordering to ensure meals meet approved menus.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of basic sanitation rules and practices.
• Knowledge of food ordering and inventory practices.
• Proficient in MS Office.
• Current Valid Louisiana Driver’s License.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist with all kitchen related activities and food preparation.
• Assist in delivery of all food and kitchen supplies.
• Oversee clients assigned to work in the kitchen.
• Maintain daily kitchen cleanliness and storage areas.
• Ensure safety practices for kitchen staff and clients.
• Record weekly inventory and label items by date.
• Assist with invoices and requisitions for food, supplies and equipment.
• Coordinate with Program Manager to follow approved agency menus.
