Job summary

Odyssey House Louisiana, Inc. is seeking a full-time Cook to support culinary operations at our Louisiana facility. The employee must be able to work evenings, overnight, and holidays as needed.

The Cook works with clients in the kitchen and assists with menu planning, food preparation, inventory control, and coordination with the Executive Chef and Nutritionist to implement menus while maintaining safety and cleanliness.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of basic sanitation rules and practices.
• Knowledge of food ordering and inventory practices.
• Proficient in MS Office.
• Current Louisiana driver's license.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist with all kitchen-related activities and food preparation.
• Assist in delivering food and kitchen supplies and oversee clients in the kitchen.
• Direct cleaning of kitchen and food storage areas and ensure daily maintenance.
• Facilitate weekly client training sessions and ensure safety practices are followed.
• Maintain inventory records and label/store foods and supplies by date.
• Coordinate with Executive Chef/Program Manager on menus and purchasing; assist with invoices and requisitions.
