Job summary

The Center for Human Development, Inc. (CHD) is seeking team members for Diversion, Shelter and Housing Programs in Springfield, MA.

You will provide direct services to clients in one of our shelter models, with daily tasks including supervising participants and promoting housing stability. Responsibilities include enforcing guidelines, motivating participants, and coordinating with caseworkers and housing staff.

Qualifications

• Ideal candidate will have a Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience working with a homeless population.
• Strong interpersonal skills and empathy for others, with commitment to serving those in need.
• Must have a vehicle for work use and a current driver’s license; able to maintain boundaries.
• All candidates must pass a background screening.
• Bilingual candidates fluent in Spanish or Haitian Creole are encouraged to apply.

Responsibilities

• Constant supervision of participants within the shelter.
• Motivate participants to maintain apartment/house upkeep.
• Monitor adherence to agency guidelines including curfew, children and safety rules.
• Encourage communication with caseworker, employment specialist, and housing specialist.
• Adhere to CHD standards.
