The Shelter Health Services Patient Representative is responsible for daily clinic operations, including greeting patients, answering phone calls, scheduling appointments, accurately verifying insurance, closing out the clinic, and communicating with clinical staff. Under the direct supervision of the Site Coordinator, this position is responsible for the timely and accurate recording of patient demographics, insurance information, and patient charges and payments. S/He ensures data is entered accurately into the electronic health record. S/He is also responsible for the daily opening and closing of the clinic.
Fluent in English and the specified language (s) both in verbal and written communication. Must be able to sit and stand for long periods of time. Ability to effectively maintain confidentiality of records and communicate with all levels of personnel.
Education: High school diploma or GED. Associate's degree preferred.
