Job summary

Coordinated Care Agency (CCA) seeks compassionate Engagement Specialist I for shelter programs in King County, including Seattle, Kent, Renton, Federal Way, and Kirkland. Shifts vary and the role offers direct client support to promote healthcare access and housing stability.

Qualifications

• One year of social service or customer service experience.
• Experience or knowledge of mental illness, substance use disorders, and homelessness services.
• Crisis intervention knowledge.
• Commitment to harm reduction and housing first model.
• Able to work independently and in a team.
• Experience with Microsoft Office and databases.
• Reliable means of communication at all times.
• Trauma-informed approach.
• Support CCS mission and values.
• Criminal history check required.
• Ability to obtain food handler’s permit within 30 days of employment.

Responsibilities

• Provide crisis intervention and advocacy to participants.
• Coordinate with other social service staff to meet client needs.
• Model interpersonal and living skills for clients.
• Maintain a safe program environment and enforce rules.
• Handle front desk, visitors, donations, and mail.
• Conduct routine facility checks and safety walks.
• Register new clients and assess needs.
• Maintain client records and update databases.
• Explain policies and manage client counts.
• Supervise on-shift volunteers and support off-site volunteers.
• Attend meetings, track hours, and support teamwork.
• Assist with meals, events, and client transitions.
