The CAN Homeless Shelter in Catonsville, MD seeks a Custodian to maintain a clean, safe, and sanitary environment for residents, staff, and visitors. You will follow daily, weekly, monthly, and quarterly checklists to ensure high standards of cleanliness and safety.

Key duties include sweeping, mopping, waste removal, restroom cleaning, and reporting conditions that affect safety. The role requires reliable transportation and a willingness to work with diverse team members.

Qualifikationen

• High school diploma or GED required.
• At least 6 months of cleaning or janitorial experience in a social services setting.
• Some human service experience preferred.
• Knowledge of cleaning methods and safety regulations (OSHA).

Aufgaben

• Maintain a clean and healthy environment for residents, staff, and volunteers by following daily, weekly, monthly and quarterly checklists.
• Sweep, mop, and clean office and program delivery areas.
• Remove garbage throughout the building, including program office areas.
• Clean floors, restrooms and other assigned areas as needed.
• Clean messes, spills and debris as needed.
• Utilize cleaning supplies and equipment appropriately.
• Monitor inventory of cleaning supplies and informs the Shelter Manager when supplies are needed.
• Report routine observations affecting safety or security to supervisory staff.
• Facilitate effective communication with other staff members.
• Attend staff meetings and trainings as scheduled.
