Job summary

Guilford County Government is seeking an Animal Care Team Lead to guide Intake/Care Technicians and/or Cleaning Technicians. You will manage daily shelter operations, ensure sanitary kennels, and uphold humane care standards.

The role requires leadership ability, knowledge of animal care, and the capacity to work with the public in a fast-paced setting. Experience in a shelter or clinic is preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED with 2 years in an animal shelter, veterinary clinic, or related work.
• Preferred experience leading a shelter team or assistant supervisor role.

Responsibilities

• Lead daily intake and/or cleaning technicians in shelter operations.
• Ensure a clean, sanitary kennel environment at all times.
• Oversee animal care to meet shelter standards and guidelines.
• Assign tasks, review performance, and train new staff.
