Job summary

Guilford County Government is seeking an Animal Intake/Care Technician for the county shelter. This seasonal, hourly, non-benefitted position pays a flat rate of 15.34/hr and requires on-site work with weekends and holidays included.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or its equivalent AND one year of direct animal handling.
• Experience with personal pets is not considered qualifying.
• Must be available to work weekends, holidays, and mandatory trainings.

Responsibilities

• Process incoming animals, perform vaccinations and health assessments.
• Answer phone and refer calls to appropriate personnel.
• Maintain intake area, care for animals, and provide meals.
• Assist medical team with procedures including euthanasia and x-rays.
• Maintain accurate records in the animal management system.
