Job summary

Salish Seafoods is seeking a hands-on supervisor to oversee daily shellfish processing operations and freight consolidation. You will work with management to ensure product flow from harvest through packaging, while maintaining HACCP and VIBRIO compliance.

You will set department schedules, supervise packing and shucking teams, ensure proper tagging and data recording, and coordinate with sales on inventory and customer data. A health department mindset and driver’s license are required.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Two years experience in shellfish processing and packaging.
• Warehouse experience in ordering supplies and maintaining inventory.
• Must have valid Washington State Driver’s License.
• Must take VIBRIO and HACCP training within the first year.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily plant activities for shellfish production and freight as needed.
• Set work schedules for all departments to meet orders and delivery schedules.
• Ensure proper rotation from harvest to packaging.
• Ensure shellfish tagging and data recording throughout processing.
• Enforce HACCP and VIBRIO requirements and maintain data records.
• Coordinate with sales on inventory and customer data tagging.
• Assist with oyster tub setup/removal for shucking.
• Maintain sanitation of all production areas and outside grounds.
• Ensure equipment cleaning, sanitization, and proper storage.
• Assist with Health Department inspections and answer questions.
• Ensure packaging supplies are stocked and ordered.
• Attend mandatory meetings and training.
