Job summary

Smurfit Westrock is hiring an Assistant Sheeter Operator to support producing high-quality paperboard sheets. You will set up, operate, and maintain sheeting equipment, working closely with the Lead Sheeter Operator to meet customer and production specs.

The role emphasizes safety, teamwork, and efficiency in a fast-paced manufacturing environment, with day and night shifts. Training and competitive pay are provided.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Minimum of one year of manufacturing experience or equivalent.
• Strong mathematical aptitude for measurements and calculations.
• Knowledge and use of measuring devices (tape measures, micrometers).
• Forklift experience preferred.
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
• Ability to work well in a team with minimal supervision.
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Commitment to workplace safety and company procedures.
• Ability to perform essential functions with or without reasonable accommodation.

Responsibilities

• Retrieve paperboard stock from warehouse to support production schedules.
• Load rolls onto the sheeter and assist with breakdown, waste management, and recycling.
• Set up machine guides, decurlers and related equipment to spec.
• Inspect test sheets and verify conformance to work orders.
• Monitor machine performance and make adjustments as needed.
• Keep pallets supplied, prepare load tags, and wrap finished loads.
• Help reduce material waste and maximize machine productivity.
• Follow work instructions and safety procedures for consistent operations.
