Job summary

Allied Printing Services Inc. in Manchester, CT is seeking a Second Pressman - Sheetfed to join our pressroom team.

You will work alongside skilled operators on state-of-the-art sheetfed presses, supporting setup, production, and maintaining high quality standards established since 1949. The role involves assisting press operators, loading paper, setting up sheets, and monitoring print quality across shifts with differential pay for 2nd and 3rd shifts.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• 1–3 years of experience in print industry client services, administrative support, or manufacturing operations.
• Experience in account management, customer service, production planning, or estimating within printing/manufacturing environments preferred.
• Excellent verbal and written communication with ability to collaborate across departments.
• Strong organizational skills with ability to manage deadlines, prioritize workload, and multitask.
• Proficiency with computers and experience using ERP systems.

Responsibilities

• Assist printing machine operators in the press room.
• Responsible for loading paper, hanging plates, loading and maintaining ink in foundations.
• Monitors and adjusts print quality, performs routine adjustments, and repairs if needed.
• Monitor layouts, check correct paper, assist setup of press (sheet size, coatings, blankets, etc.).
• Install, clean and adjust rollers.
