Job summary

The Sheetfed Press Assistant at Mittera Creative + Tech supports the setup and operation of a sheetfed printing press under the direction of the Press Operator. You will follow customer specifications to meet deadlines, monitor quality, and help minimize waste and downtime across jobs.

Responsibilities include loading paper, handling stocks, following job tickets, assisting with wash-up and cleaning, setting up plates and printing equipment, and maintaining safety and housekeeping in a

Qualifications

• Effective communication with all levels within the organization.
• Basic math skills to solve practical problems.
• Ability to read work instructions and specifications.

Responsibilities

• Keeps feeder loaded with sheets of paper at all times.
• Airs, winds, or turns paper stock.
• Reads and understands the job ticket, layout sheet, artwork, and other specifications before beginning assigned job.
• Assists Lead Press Operator in manual and machine tasks on a sheetfed press and related equipment.
• Assists in wash-up and cleaning procedures.
• Assists in setup and make-ready of the printing press and equipment.
• Hangs plates, installs blankets and packing, handles ink fountains and fountain solutions, and supports inline finishing setup.
• Records ink usage and checks plates/sheets for quality.
• Assists in maintaining OSHA and EPA safety compliance and company rules.
• Performs routine and preventive maintenance and notes issues for follow-up.
