Job summary

Graphic Packaging International, a leading packaging manufacturer, seeks a Sheeter Operator in California. You will participate in processing and quality control, operate sheetfed equipment, and support setup and maintenance tasks to meet production goals.

You will document standards, monitor safety and quality programs, and work with the Roll Tender and shift supervisor to address issues. SAP proficiency preferred.

Qualifications

• HS education or equivalent required.
• Ability to interpret standards related to product performance and quality.
• Must be able to operate sheetfed print equipment and assist in maintenance/setup.

Responsibilities

• Operate and understand sheetfed print requirements.
• Direct Roll Tender in daily tasks to meet department goals.
• Report safety, quality, or production issues to supervisors.
• Troubleshoot basic equipment and participate in CI sorting.
• Familiarity with SAP and ability to work toward department goals.

Sheeter Operator

Position Purpose:

• Participates in overall product outcome associated with Sheeter Department.
• Interprets and documents standards related to product performance/quality
• Assists in the maintenance and set up of equipment for customer product
• Supervision for position is random.

Job Functions:

• Must be able to operate and be familiar with the sheetfed print requirements.
• Must be able to direct Roll Tender in daily tasks to achieve department goals.
• Must keep Department Manager and Department lead informed of Safety, Quality, or Production issues or improvement opportunities
• Must be able to handle re-stacking stock
• Must become familiar with technical aspects of Sheeter and be able to troubleshoot if needed.
• Must be able to assist with CI sorting.
• Must be familiar with SAP.
• Must be able to work towards achieving department goals.
• Prefer 6 months as Roll Tender.
• Performs other organizational duties as required.
• Must take direction from Shift Supervisor.
• Directly involved in responsibilities / actions related to all Food Safety Programs.
• In the absence of Sheeter Operator, daily responsibilities will be transferred to another qualified associate.

Job Specifications:

• Knowledge-H.S. Education or equivalent, make-ready operations, computer literate.
• Able to use SAP systems.
• Skills-Mechanical, communication.
• Abilities-Good attendance, guide teams/processes, ability to work alone

Safe Quality Food Responsibilities:

Responsible for compliance with all facility food safety and quality policies and procedures including product safety (GMP’s)/Sanitation policies and procedures (SQF). Employee must continually work to promote the orderliness and cleanliness of their work area in support of SQF/5’s and other company standards.
