Job summary

Case Paper is seeking a Sheeter Operator to run the primary equipment—the paper sheeter—and to lead a crew to achieve quality throughput and productivity targets.

Responsibilities include operating the sheeter, using forklifts and pallet jacks, entering production data into AS400, and upholding a safe, clean, and collaborative work environment.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Operate the paper sheeter and related equipment to meet quality and production targets.
• Use material handling equipment (forklifts, roll clamps, pallet jacks) as needed.
• Input production details into the AS400 system.
• Participate in safety initiatives and maintain a safe work environment.
• Maintain a clean work area and follow SOPs.
• Collaborate with staff and service partners; support lean process improvements.

Summary

A sheeter operator has primary responsibility to operate our focal piece of equipment - the sheeter! Sheeter operators are able to achieve high levels of quality throughput and lead their crews to meet productivity standards.

Responsibilities

• The primary functions include use of material handling equipment such as forklifts, roll clamps and pallet jacks, use of the paper sheeter and supporting equipment which requires knowledge of electrical and mechanical basics, and entry of production detail into the AS400 computer system.
• Participate in safety initiatives and commit to a safe working environment, free of accidents and harm to employees and the community.
• Assure the task of "threading in" of paper, getting the wrinkles out, de-curling the sheets, setting the size and square of the sheet, and getting the proper overlap and jog of the finished product.
• Run a machine that takes rolls of paper and cuts them to a specific size sheet and stacks these sheets on a skid for final cutting to the size and quantity that our customers order.
• Maintain a clean work environment, following all SOP's.
• Interact with all Case Paper staff and outside mill and vendor service partners. The Sheeter Operator shall act in a professional and ethical manner as an employee of Case Paper.
• Cooperate with managers and supervisors to use process controls and lean principles that improve total operational effectiveness.
• Support the training program within Case Paper to bolster cooperation and cross-training across the operation.
• Any other machine operation and process monitoring or data collection that the supervisor may ask.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent
• 2-3 years of relevant work experience in manufacturing operations and/or logistics
• The position involves lifting, kneeling, and other types of physical labor.
• Ability to shift between a variety of tasks as needed - prioritizing workload
