Job summary

Training is provided, with opportunities for advancement based on performance, knowledge, and attendance. Responsibilities include assisting with forming, welding prep, material handling, and ensuring safety and quality on the production floor.

Qualifications

• Basic mathematical skills and knowledge in use of measurement tools.
• Ability to report and document basic material, production, quality or safety issues to direct supervisor or management.
• Willingness to cross-train and perform other tasks as needed.

Responsibilities

• Assists workers in forming and fabrication of metal products.
• Lifts, positions, and moves work pieces to assist in fitting, installation or welding.
• Measures and marks reference points for layouts.
• Loads, transports materials and tools by hand or with carts.
• Attaches ropes, slings or safety equipment for crane or forklift movement.
• Cleans, prepares material for manufacturing or shipment using hand tools.
