Legacy Placement Partners is seeking a seasoned Sheet Metal Superintendent for commercial HVAC projects in the Dallas–Fort Worth area. This hands-on field leadership role requires directing crews, coordinating with multiple trades, and keeping projects on schedule and within safety standards.

The ideal candidate will have 5+ years of experience in commercial HVAC sheet metal, ductwork installation, and field leadership, with OSHA 30 and the ability to travel to project sites as needed.

Sheet Metal Superintendent - Commercial Mechanical Construction

Employment Type: Full-Time | On-Site/Field

Compensation: $45-$52/hour, DOE

Legacy Placement Partners is partnering with a well-established commercial mechanical contractor in the Dallas-Fort Worth area to identify an experienced Sheet Metal Superintendent.

This is a hands-on field leadership opportunity for an experienced sheet metal professional who knows how to run large commercial HVAC projects, lead crews, coordinate with multiple trades, and keep projects moving safely and on schedule.

The ideal candidate has progressed through the field and brings strong knowledge of commercial HVAC sheet metal and ductwork installation, along with proven experience leading foremen, journeymen, apprentices, and other field personnel.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and manage commercial sheet metal/HVAC construction projects throughout the DFW area.
• Manage field personnel, including foremen, journeymen, apprentices, helpers, and subcontractors as applicable.
• Lead crews of up to approximately 40 installers across active projects.
• Plan manpower, materials, equipment, and workflow to meet project schedules and milestones.
• Read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, shop drawings, submittals, and contract documents.
• Coordinate sheet metal/HVAC installation with piping, plumbing, electrical, structural, and other trades.
• Work closely with project managers and operations leadership regarding schedules, manpower needs, materials, and project progress.
• Attend jobsite coordination meetings and represent field operations regarding schedule and work execution.
• Maintain accurate daily reports, look-ahead plans, as-built drawings, safety documentation, and other required electronic reporting.
• Conduct safety meetings and audits and maintain a strong safety culture on all assigned jobsites.
• Identify potential field issues early and develop solutions that keep projects moving.
• Mentor and develop foremen and other field personnel.
• Ensure work meets company quality standards, project specifications, and customer expectations.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience leading commercial HVAC sheet metal construction projects.
• Strong background in commercial sheet metal, ductwork, and HVAC installation.
• Previous experience as a Sheet Metal Superintendent, General Foreman, Foreman, HVAC Superintendent, or similar field leadership role.
• Experience managing commercial mechanical projects in the $2M-$8M+ range preferred.
• Proven ability to lead multiple crews and manage manpower effectively.
• Strong understanding of construction schedules, blueprints, shop drawings, specifications, and field coordination.
• Experience coordinating work with other mechanical and construction trades.
• Comfortable completing required project documentation electronically.
• OSHA 30 required.
• Trade license/certifications are a plus.
• Strong communication, leadership, planning, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to successfully complete required background, drug, MVR, and physical ability screenings.
• Ability to travel to project sites as needed.
