McKinstry in Spokane is seeking a Shop Preventative Maintenance Mechanic to maintain and repair sheet metal fabricating equipment, troubleshoot breakdowns and perform minor electrical wiring and general machine work. Responsibilities include preventative maintenance, keeping manuals and vendor files, and improving machinery to reduce downtime.

Qualifications

• Five years of experience as a mechanic in the construction industry.
• AA degree in construction management or equivalent work experience.
• Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Word/Excel/Outlook).
• Knowledge of tools and equipment used in mechanical contracting.
• Knowledge and understanding of OSHA guidelines.
• Purchasing experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Performs preventative maintenance on machinery and equipment.
• Troubleshoots breakdowns and performs minor electrical wiring and general machine work.
• Keeps machinery and fabrication equipment in good running order.
• Repairs and replaces major machinery parts as needed.
• Improves existing machinery to boost productivity and reduce downtime.
• Maintains a clean, organized maintenance shop and records.
