Job description

North American Roofing boasts over 45 years of expertise in providing high-quality flat and low slope commercial roofing solutions across the United States. We excel in delivering durable and energy-efficient roofing solutions tailored to meet the needs of commercial and industrial clients. While our primary markets are concentrated in the Southeast, our capabilities extend nationwide, allowing us to effectively serve clients wherever their projects take them.

We are currently looking to add a Foreman to lead sheet metal operations from our Tampa location. This individual will be responsible for fabrication of all sheet metal used on various commercial roof systems. The individual may oversee the installation of sheet metal on commercial or industrial projects. This is a great opportunity to grow with a new role and further enhance overall growth and operations with North American Roofing, nationwide.

Job Duties:

  1. Oversee the sheet metal crew in the fabrication of sheet metal for commercial roofing systems in the sheet metal shop.
  2. Train, mentor and evaluate crew members to improve skills and efficiency, productivity and quality.
  3. Coordinate with the installation crews installing the fabricated sheet metal to ensure quality control.
  4. Review job files and follow details specific to each project.
  5. Collaborate with the Project Manager on the sheet metal progress for their projects.
  6. Manage the team fabricating the sheet metal and ensure payroll receives all time records by the weekly deadline.
  7. Inspect daily work for quality.
  8. Oversee safety setup and ensure work areas stay NARS and OSHA compliant at all times. Hold team accountable for safety standards.
  9. Manage materials, tools, and equipment ensuring availability and proper use.
  10. Submit documentation for crew incidents/accidents to Project Manager and Safety Department.
  11. Submit expense reports in a timely manner.
  12. Perform other duties as assigned.

Skills and Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of sheet metal fabrication experience for commercial roofing installation.
  • 2+ years as a foreman or crew leader.
  • Strong knowledge of sheet metal fabrication, layout, and installation techniques for large-scale, commercial roofing projects.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and specifications accurately.
  • Experience with computerized sheet metal folder, required.
  • Strong understanding and compliance with safety protocols and OSHA regulations.
  • A driver’s license or the ability to obtain one within 30 days of hire is required.

Work is performed in a warehouse environment with varying environmental temperature conditions. Must be able to work in extreme hot and cold conditions.

Standing and walking for significant periods to operate fabrication machinery. Repetitive bending, squatting, twisting, and stooping, with infrequent lifting up to 120 pounds. Frequent lifting up to 50 pounds.

Regular operation of heavy equipment required. Work in a fast-paced environment with precise standards.

Repetitive finger, hand, and forearm motions for fabricating metal. Exposure to noise during fabrication. Climbing ladders and working at heights may be necessary.

Up to 10% travel to job sites for quality control. Ability to manipulate keyboards, telephones, and perform manual tasks required.

Talking, listening, manual dexterity, and physical stamina are essential.
