Job summary

DMI-Texas, LLC in Brownsville, TX is seeking a Production Manager with hands-on sheet metal fabrication experience to lead a multi-shift operation on-site. You will own floor execution from laser cutting to assembly, drive on-time shipments, and ensure safety and quality across the shop.

Role requires 5+ years in sheet metal, experience with laser cutting, forming, CNC equipment, and MIG/TIG welding. You’ll lead scheduling, dispatch, and continuous improvement using Lean and ERP systems.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of sheet metal fabrication experience in a job shop or contract manufacturing environment.
• Hands-on experience with laser cutting, nesting, material utilization, and cut quality.
• Forming with press brakes: tooling selection, bend allowances, and setup.
• Experience with CNC press brakes, punch presses, or laser systems and reading programs.
• Welding MIG/TIG of sheet metal with distortion control and quality awareness.
• 3+ years of floor supervision for multi-shift teams with scheduling and dispatch.
• Ability to read complex sheet metal drawings, flat patterns, GD&T and specs.
• Quality mindset with in-process and final inspection and corrective action.
• Maintenance and safety knowledge for lasers, brakes, and equipment; OSHA aware.
• Lean experience and ERP/MRP discipline to improve workflow.

Responsibilities

• Run the floor and keep jobs moving through laser cutting, forming, welding, coating, and assembly.
• Schedule and dispatch work across laser, brakes, and weld cells against the Pre-Production plan.
• Own on-floor quality including in-process and first-article inspection and containment.
• Direct maintenance on lasers, brakes, and fabrication gear for maximum uptime.
• Drive Lean by establishing standard work across departments.
• Maintain ERP accuracy for receiving, staging, and WIP movements.
• Build and develop leads,Second Shift Supervisors, and cross-train operators.
