Job summary

Primary Staffing Inc. in Itasca, IL is seeking a Production Supervisor to coordinate daily sheet metal production, assign tasks, and monitor progress to meet on-time delivery. You will lead, train, and coach a team, promoting Lean practices and safety.

You will collaborate with engineering, inventory and management to optimize workflow, ensure quality, and support scheduling. Requires 1–2 years in sheet metal production, high school diploma, fluent English, and forklift familiarity.

Qualifications

• Forklift certification or ability to obtain it; ERP/manufacturing software experience a plus.
• Lean Manufacturing, 5S or Continuous Improvement preferred.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and oversee daily sheet metal production activities.
• Assign daily tasks based on production priorities and staffing needs.
• Monitor production progress to ensure orders are completed on time.
• Lead, train, coach, and support production employees.
• Cross-train team members on equipment, processes, and safety procedures.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Fluent English required.
• 1–2 years of manufacturing or sheet metal production experience.

• Knowledge of sheet metal fabrication processes and manufacturing equipment.
• Experience supporting production scheduling and workflow coordination.
• Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to train employees and promote safe work practices.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to prioritize multiple responsibilities in a fast-paced environment.
• Forklift certification or ability to obtain and maintain certification.
• Experience operating sheet metal fabrication machinery preferred.
• ERP or manufacturing software experience is a plus.
• Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, 5S, or Continuous Improvement preferred.
• High-volume manufacturing experience preferred.
• Familiarity with quality systems and production performance metrics is a plus.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to lift up to 40 lbs.
• Ability to stand, walk, bend, and perform repetitive physical tasks throughout the shift.
• Manual dexterity to handle materials and operate manufacturing equipment.
• Comfortable working around machinery, production noise, and varying temperatures.

PPE Requirements

• PPE is required in all production areas.
• Gloves and safety glasses will be provided.

Schedule & Pay

Location: Itasca, IL Pay: $21.00/hour

Schedule: 6:00 AM–2:30 PM Overtime/Adjusted Hours: May be required based on production needs.
