Job summary

Trade Management is seeking an experienced Sheet Metal Operator to join our Oxford, Alabama team on a contract-to-hire basis. The ideal candidate will have 1-3 years of sheet metal fabrication or assembly experience and be comfortable reading work orders, technical drawings, and operating fabrication equipment.

This full-time role offers competitive pay and weekly pay. Salary ranges from $24 to $28 per hour DOE.

Qualifications

• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and work orders.
• Experience operating sheet metal fabrication equipment.
• Experience using a variety of hand tools.
• Ability to operate or learn to operate an industrial forklift.

• Reliable attendance and ability to meet production deadlines.
• Ability to work safely in an industrial environment.

Responsibilities

• Operate press brakes, rollers, and other sheet metal fabrication equipment.
• Use hand tools and industrial equipment to complete fabrication and assembly tasks.
• Inspect finished components to ensure proper dimensions, tolerances, and quality standards.
• Operate powered industrial forklifts as needed.
• Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work environment.
• Cross-train and assist with other shop duties as needed.
• Communicate effectively with shop staff, engineering, and other departments to resolve issues and complete projects.

Sheet Metal Operator

Pay: $24-$28/hr. DOE
Location:Oxford, Alabama
Job Type: Full-Time

Trade Management is seeking an experienced Sheet Metal Operator to join our team. The ideal candidate will have 1-3 years of sheet metal fabrication or assembly experience and be comfortable operating fabrication equipment, reading work orders and technical drawings, and working safely in an industrial shop environment.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to stand for 8-10 hours per day and up to 6 days per week.
• Frequent walking, reaching, climbing, balancing, bending, kneeling, crouching, and crawling.
• Ability to lift and move materials weighing up to 50 lbs.
• Ability to perform tasks requiring close, distance, peripheral, and depth vision.
• Ability to work around machinery and industrial equipment.

Working Conditions

• Exposure to varying temperatures, fumes, chemicals, odors, noise, and vibration.
• Regular operation of machinery, forklifts, and other industrial equipment.
• Occasional work at heights.
• Must follow all required safety procedures and wear appropriate PPE, including safety glasses, hearing protection, steel-toed boots, and other required safety equipment.
