Job summary

Therm-x of California is seeking a Sheet Metal Operator to fabricate thin metal sheets and support precision production for hi-tech applications. You will read blueprints, set up and program CNC turret punch machines, cut materials to tight tolerances, and inspect finished parts for quality.

The role emphasizes safe operation and routine maintenance of equipment, with a strong focus on meeting manufacturing standards and improving process efficiency through collaboration with Engineering.

Qualifications

• Ensure measured tolerances and quality control.

The Sheet Metal Operator will be responsible for fabricating thin metal sheets used in a variety of applications. In this role, the operator will read and interpret blueprints to set up, program, and operate key fabrication machinery. They will accurately measure and cut raw materials to precise tolerances, inspect finished products for quality control, and perform routine maintenance to ensure equipment safety and efficiency.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to;

• Strong understanding of sheet metal manufacturing processes
• Set up, program edits and operation of CNC Turret Punch machines according to job specific requirements.
• Perform regular equipment preventive maintenance duties according to manufacturer’s guidelines.
• Set up work station and appropriately select tooling for assigned jobs.
• Adhere to all safety requirements and policies. Maintain commitment to safety, ethics and professionalism.
• Interface with Engineering on process improvements.

Desired skills and knowledge;

• CNC press brake experience in a precision production environment
• proficient with inspection tools (calipers, micrometers, height gauges, etc.)
