Job description

Summary: Feldkamp Mechanical is looking for a new Sheet Metal Mechanic to assist with various construction projects.

This role primarily involves working on heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) systems, focusing on ductwork.

You will be responsible for prefabricating parts of the ducting and installing ductwork on-site using power and hand tools.

Ideal candidates will have experience with sheet metal, whether on construction sites or assembly lines, and have completed an apprenticeship or technical school program.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Install ductwork for new HVAC projects
2. Repair existing systems
3. Create plans and estimate materials for each project
4. Test and inspect systems for quality
5. Guide less experienced workers on-site

Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Technical school certificate or completed apprenticeship (highly preferred)
• Experience with sheet metal and various tools
• Manual dexterity and physical stamina
• Construction experience
• Certificate from the International Training Institute for the Sheet Metal and Air Conditioning Industry (preferred)

Relocation: Must be willing to relocate to Lexington, KY 40506 before starting work.

Work Environment and Expectations:

• Some tasks performed in an office environment with normal lighting and climate control
• Work at sites with exposure to wet/humid conditions, moving mechanical parts, high places, and outdoor weather
• Work may involve loud noise levels
• Standard business hours with possible flexibility

Physical Requirements:

• Prolonged standing and walking
• Lifting, pushing, pulling (up to 50 pounds)
• Reaching, stooping, bending, kneeling, crouching
• Sitting at a desk and working on a computer
