Job summary

Moore's Electrical & Mechanical is seeking a Sheet Metal Mechanic to install sheet metal components for HVAC systems on commercial projects in Lynchburg and surrounding areas. Projects include K-12, university, and healthcare facilities.

You will read construction drawings, set up equipment, and train helpers/apprentices while adhering to safety protocols. A valid driver’s license and reliable transportation are required.

• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings.
• Mentor/helpers and apprentices on site.

Location: Lynchburg and surrounding areas. North towards Charlottesville, Southwest towards Roanoke/New River Valley.

The Role:

The Sheet Metal Mechanic is responsible for installation of sheet metal components for HVAC systems that bring our projects to life. Job sites will vary amongst commercial projects throughout the area. Projects will mainly consist of K-12, University, and Healthcare buildings.

What You'll Do:

• Knowledge and experience in sheet metal fabrication and installation of HVAC components in commercial construction environments
• Ability to set and hook up equipment
• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings
• Work as a trainer and mentor for helpers and apprentices
• Must have a valid driver's license and dependable transportation

You Bring:

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Vocational school or prior training preferred.
• Basic understanding of trade principles and concepts.
• Excellent problem-solving and critical-thinking abilities.
• Good physical condition with the ability to lift heavy objects and work in various environments.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
• Commitment to safety and following established protocols.
