Sheet Metal Machinist and Straighter, 1st and 2nd Shift

Job Summary

We are seeking a Sheet Metal Mechanic capable of planning, layout, and fabrication of sheet metal parts and products. The candidate will also perform work quality checks.

Location

Columbia, CT

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Inspect products using basic measuring equipment.
  • Interpret blueprints and engineering specifications independently.
  • Trim, file, grind, deburr, and smooth surfaces.
  • Lay out and mark dimensions and reference lines on materials using templates.
  • Set up and operate fabrication machines such as shears, presses, and forming rolls.
  • Inspect work area and machines at the end of each shift.
  • Follow all safety protocols.
Qualification Requirements

Must be able to perform all essential duties satisfactorily, support internal customer needs, read blueprints accurately, lift up to 25 pounds, and demonstrate commitment to quality, safety, and teamwork. Reasonable accommodations may be provided for individuals with disabilities.

Education and Experience

High school diploma or GED required. Aerospace industry exposure is a plus. Strong basic math skills are necessary.
