Comfort Systems USA Shoffner is seeking a skilled Journeyperson Sheet Metal Installer to lay out and install commercial duct work, read blueprints, and train apprentices. You will work across diverse job sites, maintain safety as a top priority, and handle heavy duct work with care.

The role requires 4+ years of installation experience, a high school diploma or GED, and the ability to work at heights and in various weather conditions.

Responsibilities

• Read blueprints and drawings to determine layout and installation.
• Lay out and install commercial duct work in varied settings.
• Unload, move, and handle duct work safely.
• Finish and seal duct work to pass testing.

Our Journey Sheetmetal Mechanics are skilled professionals that can install duct work, measure, lay out fittings, and other related materials in new or existing commercial construction jobs. Sheetmetal pros work apprentices with minimal direct supervision, as they install various HVAC and ventilation-related components. At Comfort Systems USA Shoffner, skilled Journeyperson can grow as far as their talents will take them. We focus on continued education and cross-training.

Your Tasks

• To work safely no matter what. Safety is our #1 priority.
• Understand blueprints and drawings.
• Lay out and install commercial duct work in a wide variety of job settings.
• Unload, move, and handle commercial-scale duct work.
• Properly finish and seal duct work to pass testing.
• Help train apprentices.
• Work at heights, from ladders, lifts, or roof.
• Assist with installing commercial HVAC equipment.

Experience

• 4+ years of Sheet Metal installation experience.
• Ability to show required schooling and hours worked to be a Journeyman.
• A High School diploma or GED is required.

You need to be able to;

• Keep it a Drug-free Workplace.
• Be punctual and reliable.
• Work as a team.
• Work in extremes of heat, cold, bad weather, indoors and outdoors.
• Stand and walk throughout the workday, and lift/carry max of 60 lbs.
• Willing to be cross trained in different trades.
• Work well in confined spaces.
• Work above shoulders, crawling, squatting, kneeling, bending.
• Exercise motor control, with good vision and excellent hand-eye coordination.
