The City of Saint Paul is seeking a qualified sheet metal journeyman to perform on-site inspections across the city. The role requires hands-on verification of installations, enforcement of code compliance, and witnessing tests of mechanical systems.
Applicants must have a valid certificate of apprenticeship for sheet metal, substantial journey-level experience, and the ability to work at multiple sites daily.
The current vacancy is based in the Department of Safety and Inspections Office, 375 Jackson Street, Saint Paul, MN 55101. This position works Monday - Friday 7:00am - 3:30pm and conducts daily field inspections for residential and commercial properties located across the City of Saint Paul and is required to be on site every day.

High School or Vocational School Diploma and possession of an official certificate evidencing the completion of an apprenticeship as a sheet metal worker, such as is issued by the State of Minnesota, and five years of experience as a journey-level sheet metal worker.
OR
High School or Vocational School Diploma and eleven years of experience in sheet metal work, at least seven years of which must have been as a journey-level sheet metal worker.
Must possess a Certificate of Competency issued by the City of Saint Paul or the City of Minneapolis as a journey-or master-level warm air and ventilation worker.
Must possess and maintain a valid Minnesota Class D Driver's License or equivalent out-of-state driver's license.
