Job summary

Capstone Mechanical, LP. in Fort Myers, FL is seeking a Sheet Metal Mechanic to fabricate and assemble ductwork in a busy shop and assist with field installation. The role involves reading blueprints, using shears, press brakes, plasma tables, and hand tools, and traveling to local jobsites as needed.

You will maintain quality and safety, perform basic preventive maintenance, and collaborate with project teams to meet deadlines. Prior sheet metal fabrication experience is required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• Minimum 2 years sheet metal fabrication experience.
• Ability to read a tape measure accurately.
• Ability to read and interpret shop drawings and blueprints.
• Basic math skills including fractions and measurements.
• Knowledge of sheet metal fabrication methods and equipment.
• Ability to lift up to 75 pounds.
• Strong attention to detail and quality workmanship.
• Preferred OSHA 10 certification.
• Experience operating CNC plasma cutting equipment is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Fabricate HVAC ductwork and sheet metal components from drawings and specs.
• Read blueprints and shop drawings.
• Measure, mark, cut, bend, and assemble sheet metal materials.
• Maintain quality and dimensional accuracy of products.
• Perform equipment inspections and basic preventive maintenance.
• Keep work area clean, safe, and organized.
• Load and stage materials for delivery to jobsites.
• Travel to local jobsites to support field operations.
• Collaborate with shop personnel, drivers, project managers, and field crews.
• Assist with field installation of ductwork as needed.
