Luxfer Superform in Riverside, CA is hiring a Sheet Metal Fabricator to grind, sand, polish and assemble sheet metal parts for aerospace and automotive applications.

The role requires basic metalwork experience, the ability to read work instructions and blueprints, and the stamina to lift up to 50 lbs. Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of sheet metal experience.
• Aerospace or automotive manufacturing experience preferred.
• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Able to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods.
• Read blueprints preferred.
• Must follow safety guidelines and PPE use.

Responsibilities

• Prepare materials for welding, including cleaning, sanding, and applying finishes.
• Identify and repair imperfections prior to outside processing.
• Grind, sand, trim, deburr, and polish to specifications.
• Collaborate with QA to ensure finished products meet quality standards.
• Report equipment malfunctions to maintenance to keep tools in good order.
• Maintain accurate records of work performed and time spent.
• Adhere to production schedules to meet deadlines.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area.
• Identify opportunities for process improvements in sheet metal finishing.

Sheet Metal Fabricator

**Starting at $20.00 to $24.00 DOE**

Luxfer Superform operates from Riverside, California (USA). We specialize in Superforming of Aluminum alloys as a 1st Tier supplier to major OEMs. Established in 1974 Superform serves Customers in all the major markets including Aerospace.

Position Purpose:

The Sheet Metal Fabricator is responsible for grinding, sanding, polishing, and assembly of fabricated sheet metal products using hand, and power tools to ensure a smooth surface while inspecting products for flaws or cracks to ensure the quality and appearance of sheet metal components used in manufacturing of Aerospace and Automotive products.

Main Responsibilities:

• Prepare materials for welding, including cleaning, sanding, and applying finishes as required.
• Identify and repair any imperfections on the material (parts) prior to any outside process.
• Grind, Sand, Trim, Deburr, and Polish materials accordingspecifications.
• Collaborate with the Quality Control department to ensure that finished products meet established quality standards and customer specifications.
• Communicate with Maintenance team to report malfunctioning equipment to ensure that tools are in good working order.
• Work closely with all production team members to create efficient workflow.
• Maintain accurate records of work performed, including specifications, adjustments made, and time spent on each job.
• Adhere to production schedules byworking within established timelines to meet production goals and delivery deadlines.
• Comply with all safety guidelines and protocols, including the use of personal protective equipment and safe handling of materials.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area.
• Identify opportunities for process improvement in sheet metal finishing techniques to enhance efficiency and quality.

Education and Experience:

• Minimum of one (1) year experience with sheet metal. Preferably in an aerospace or automotivemanufacturing environment.
• High School Diploma or Equivalent required.
• Experience operating Angle grinder, Blend motor, Hand sander, Band saw, Hand drills, Rivet Gun, and Rivet Machine are required.
• Ability to utilize Calipers, Depth Gauge, Height Gauge, and Micrometer.
• Able to read and understand manufacturing work instructions.
• Must be able to occasionally lift product up to 50lbs. and frequently stand for extended periods of time.
• Ability to read Blueprints preferred.
• A self-motivated individual with the ability to take directions, and then schedule and follow through with daily tasks and assignments.

Monday - Friday 5:30 AM to 2:00 PM Overtime as needed.
