Job summary

Pursuit Aerospace seeks an entry‑level sheet metal associate to learn planning, layout, repair, and installation of sheet metal components. You will work onsite in Connecticut, with core hours 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM, 1st shift, and gain hands‑on experience across measurement, layout, and assembly.

Requirements include a High School Diploma or equivalent and 2–4 years relevant experience, plus ITAR/EAR compliance readiness.

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • 2–4 years of relevant experience preferred.
  • Must be authorized to work in the U.S. on a full-time basis without sponsorship now or in the future.
  • Must be able to comply with ITAR/EAR regulations.

Responsibilities

  • Learn and gain proficiency in planning, laying out, repairing, and installing sheet metal parts.
  • Interpret blueprints to determine fabrication, assembly, and installation steps for sheet metal products.
  • Measure, mark dimensions, and lay out material using basic tools and instrumentation.
  • Assemble and join parts with solder, welds, caulk, bolts, and fasteners while ensuring durable bonds.
  • Maintain tolerances and inspect parts to ensure dimensional accuracy.

About the Opportunity:

Learn all the processes to plan, lay out, repair and install sheet metal products and parts.

Location:

This role will be onsite 100% of the time. It is a 1st shift position with core hours of 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM.

Responsibilities:
  • Learn and gain a better understanding of calibrated tooling and equipment such as but not limited to vernier calipers, height gages, pi-tapes, plug gages, micrometers, go/no go gages, thread gages, cylindrical plug and vertical dividing head.
  • Become proficient in interpreting blueprints to determine how and where to fabricate, assemble and install sheet metal products
  • Become proficient in measuring, marking dimensions, and lay out material to be installed using tools such as scribes, rulers, calculators and squares
  • Become proficient in fastening joints and seams in sheet metal with solder, welds, caulk, bolts and metal driver clips, ensuring work is done carefully and bonds will last
  • Assist in checking parts using specified gages or check parts using furnished fixtures to see that dimensions are being maintained.
  • Consistently maintain specific tolerances and accurately perform dimensions
  • Maintain a neat and orderly work area.
  • Follow all applicable safety rules and precautions.
  • Other job related duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • 2-4 years of relevant experience
  • Must be authorized to work in the U.S. on a full-time basis without sponsorship now or in the future. The Company cannot offer employment to visa holders who require employer sponsorship in the future or cannot work now on a full-time basis.
  • Must be able to perform work subject to ITAR/EAR regulations.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Demonstrate a good mechanical aptitude.
  • Able to read, write, and speak in standard English
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals
  • Professional sheet metal fabricator certificate
  • Basic knowledge of specific properties of metals used
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, procedure manuals and blueprints
Physical Requirements:
  • Requires mobility in a manufacturing plant environment while using Personal Protective Equipment.
  • Must be able to frequently sit, stand and walk.
  • Must be able to lift and carry up to 15 pounds.
  • Must be able to have prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
