Job summary

RTX in Andover, MA is seeking a Sheet Metal Operator B for an on-site role. The position involves setting up and fabricating a wide range of complex sheet metal parts with tight tolerances, using CNC and manual equipment, and working from engineering drawings and instructions.

The role requires 2+ years in sheet metal fabrication, plus relevant trades training. This onsite position is covered by a collective-bargaining agreement and offers comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Over 1 year and up to 2 years of sheet metal trades training.
• Minimum of 2 years’ experience in sheet metal fabrication.

Responsibilities

• Performs general maintenance and housekeeping of workplace, tools and equipment.
• Maintains records, moves materials and follows safety rules in performance of duties.
• Utilizes precision measuring equipment to perform non-FAIR inspections on parts and assemblies.
• Sets up, lays out, fabricates, constructs and assembles sheet metal parts with complex bends and close tolerances.
• Calculates complex angles, lengths, and weld shrinkage using geometry and shop math.

Education

High school diploma or equivalent

Over 1 year and up to 2 years trades training in sheet metal work

Minimum of 2 years’ experience in sheet metal fabrication
