Qualifications

• Experience estimating sheet metal fabrication projects.
• Ability to read drawings, prints, RFQs.
• Understanding of manufacturing process times and labor standards.
• Strong analytical and detail-oriented mindset.
• Ability to work independently in a remote environment.
• Proficiency with Microsoft software.

Responsibilities

• Review customer drawings, prints, specifications, and RFQs.
• Develop accurate manufacturing cost estimates for fabricated sheet metal components and assemblies.
• Calculate material, labor, machine, and outside processing costs.
• Estimate process time for fabrication operations including laser cutting, punching, forming, welding, machining, hardware insertion, finishing and powder coating, and assembly.
• Determine appropriate manufacturing processes and routing.
• Collaborate with Sales Engineers, Production, and Sales Engineering Manager to clarify quote requirements.
• Identify potential manufacturing efficiencies and cost-saving opportunities.
• Ensure quotes are completed by JR Metal Works standards and within customer deadlines.
• Communicate professionally with internal teams regarding quote status and questions.
• Continuously improve estimating accuracy through feedback from completed jobs.
